About The Position

As a Virtual Chief Information Officer, you will build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders while guiding technology roadmaps that enhance efficiency, security, and long-term growth. You will provide strategic consulting at the intersection of business processes, compliance, and IT innovation, ensuring that technology investments deliver measurable value. The position requires strong leadership, business acumen, and deep technical expertise. Working cross-functionally with internal teams and client executives, you will drive strategic outcomes, optimize IT operations, and ensure client success across complex technology environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT service delivery, consulting, account management, or managed services environments.
  • Proven leadership experience guiding technology strategy, system integration, and large-scale IT implementations.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise technologies such as cloud platforms, virtualization, network infrastructure, and collaboration tools.
  • Experience with technologies and platforms including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, VMware, SAN storage systems, SaaS, and HaaS solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with C-level executives and influence strategic decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of IT budgeting, ROI/TCO analysis, KPI development, and technology trend evaluation.
  • Experience with industry tools such as ConnectWise, ITGlue, SmileBack, or similar IT service management platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted technology advisor to client executives, building long-term relationships and acting as the primary strategic point of contact.
  • Develop and align technology roadmaps with client business objectives, ensuring measurable ROI and operational efficiency.
  • Lead IT strategy planning, including budgeting, KPI definition, and performance monitoring for technology initiatives.
  • Conduct IT risk assessments and implement strategies that reduce business risk while maximizing the value of technology investments.
  • Facilitate executive-level steering committee meetings to review performance, progress, and future strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to technology standards, procedures, and governance across client environments.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for client issues, collaborating with service, support, and product teams to resolve complex challenges.
  • Contribute to the development of new service offerings and technology solutions in collaboration with leadership teams.
