Overview As a Virtual Sitter, your role will be centered around ensuring resident safety. You will play a vital role in ensuring resident safety by providing continuous remote monitoring for residents at risk of falls, elopement, or self-harm. Your vigilance and proactive communication will help prevent adverse events and enhance the overall resident experience. How you Will make a difference Complete continuous visualization of the resident via remote monitoring equipment.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) or Medical Assistant preferred.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience of working in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation.
Responsibilities
- Continuous visual observation of resident(s) always using room safety camera to identify potential harm to self or others.This includes dislodging of drains, tubes, IV's, getting up unassisted, etc.
- Communicate with facility nurses to determine when cameras should be adjusted for privacy during daily care, physician visits, etc.
- Obtain a verbal report from the resident's nurse, including ambulation limitations and course of action for redirection, care needs, diagnosis, and any special considerations (NPO status, bed alarms, mobility restrictions, etc.).
- Collaborate with the manager for concerns not requiring immediate physical intervention.
- Observe the resident's activity and behavior and redirect the resident as needed.
- If indicated, immediately notifies floor nurses of the need for physical intervention (such as toileting assistance assisting resident to lie back in bed, moving an item closer, etc.)
- Identify safety risks and communicate the need to escalate assistance to the residents.
- Function cooperatively as a team member, responding directive by responsible nurse to changing resident's/unit's needs.
- Communicate in a professional manner and demonstrate respect for the residents, families/significant other and other health care members.
