About The Position
This role utilizes analytical skills to create a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition. National General is seeking an experienced Virtual Auto Estimator with experience in writing initial damage estimates to join our NEST team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with body shops and customers, reviewing photos of vehicle damage and generating initial high‑quality estimates. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in technical estimating skills, a solid understanding of repair procedures, and the confidence to negotiate effectively with repair facilities. Experience in CCC and Microsoft applications is essential. Candidates located in NY or FL are highly desirable, and prior experience in the auto insurance industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
- Applies thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Builds established relationships with both internal and external customers
- Exhibits proficient estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses
- Processes a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within escalated authority limits
