Virginia Tech Bus Drivers transport faculty, staff, students, and visitors on various charter trips in Virginia Tech passenger buses, vans, and other state vehicles. Trips occur throughout the week, including days, nights, and weekends. Some trips involve transporting passengers then waiting for extended times for the passengers to complete their visit before returning to campus. Additional responsibilities include loading and unloading luggage, maintaining trip logs, assisting individuals with disabilities, fueling and cleaning the vehicle, and notifying the shop supervisor of any maintenance issues or concerns. All of this work is performed while providing excellent customer service to all guests. The incumbents also perform other duties as requested; take initiative to support a healthy work environment; strive to fulfill the terms in the Standards of Business Conduct; exemplify the Virginia Tech Principles of Community; and support the university's motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve).
