The Viral Repository Manager will provide services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the IRF-Frederick within National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Biological inventory management for the IRF-Frederick (IRF) is needed to provide oversight, auditing, and planning of the viral repository samples stored at, received by, and sent from the IRF. The repository is inclusive of biological select agents and toxins (BSAT) as defined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Repository management includes routine expansion, titration, tracking and documentation of Repository stocks. The Repository Manager is also responsible for allocating stock samples when requested, performing inactivation testing on new virus stocks and irradiating stock or sample material as requested. The Repository Manager is a subject matter expert on regulatory requirements for BSAT inventory and management requirements and routinely handles BSAT materials in BSL-4 and Animal-BSL-4 settings. The role of the Repository Manager is to advise the IRF Director on overall Repository management and provide specific feedback to NIH Division of Safety about findings, process changes, and other emergent issues.
