About The Position

To serve guests quickly, efficiently and with complete knowledge of food and beverage menus and standards of service. Offer superior customer service by adhering to Forbes and hotel standards and maintains station in a clean and orderly manner throughout shift.

Responsibilities

  • Attend daily pre shift meetings. Be knowledgeable on daily hotel information and events.
  • Warmly greets and acknowledges guests upon arrival utilizing the guest name. Assist Host with chairs as appropriate.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs, or individuals with disabilities.
  • Perform routine support services in the restaurant.
  • Have complete knowledge of table numbers and seat numbers
  • To offer and serve water and/or bottled water.
  • To inquire and take note of guests special preferences and forward the details for updating the guest profile/history in Open Table reservations system.
  • Be knowledgeable and well versed on all food and beverage menu products. Answer questions on menu selections and offer recommendations while exhibiting the ability to anticipate needs, not always requiring prompting by guest.
  • Highly engage others using clear and professional language.
  • Set the dining room tables and stock side stations with appropriate mise en place and linen prior to service.
  • Clear and reset tables in a professional manner to standard. Fine tune and maintain the proper standard tabletop setting.
  • Use a tray at all times to serve, clear and handle all drinks and glassware, mise en place etc.
  • Clear all dirty table mise en place, glassware, china, linen and napkins etc. to a designated breakdown area.
  • Remove all full dirty trays and transport them to the kitchen breakdown area.
  • Reset tables in all stations for the following shift and appropriate meal period or event.
  • Cleans, restocks, and maintains the workstations throughout shift including removal of trash
  • To take care of all linen including drop off into bins in the basement, collecting the fresh linen and proper par maintenance and storage
  • Provide guests with beverages and replenishments as requested.
  • Ensure coffee, water and juice is setup and stored in a presentable manner at the side stations.
  • Fine polish all silverware and glassware used for service.
  • Fold napkins used for service and stock the following shift
  • Follows all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas including light sweeping of dining room floor and carpets during service
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation. Bid them a fond farewell and a wish for their return
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs, or individuals with disabilities.
  • To inquire and take note of guests special preferences and forward the details for updating the guest profile/history in Open Table reservations system.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation. Bid them a fond farewell and a wish for their return.
  • Knowledgeable of all beverage offerings, including non-alcoholic options, coffee drinks, tea, bar menu and basic wine characteristics.
  • Cleans, stocks, and maintains the workstations throughout shift.
  • Support teamwork to ensure proper floor coverage and reach common steps of service to provide prompt guest service including clearing and resetting tables during "turns". Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Develop and maintain positive and respectful working relationships with others.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Personal appearance is clean, crisp and professional. Follow hotel appearance and grooming standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Stand or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and un- safe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Discuss work topics, activities, or problems with coworkers, supervisors, or managers discreetly and quietly, avoiding public areas of the property.
  • Adhere to all policies in the Team Member Manual (employee handbook)
  • Reset the dining room for the next shift.
  • Complete all closing duties, and complete daily cleaning checklist
  • Communicate with the manager prior to leaving for your shift.
  • And any other reasonable and customary requests by the management to provide lateral guest service and overall satisfaction.
