About The Position

The University of Arizona is seeking a talented and experienced Videographer to join its award-winning production team at Arizona Public Media. This role involves making technical and creative decisions related to video production, including lighting, audio, and camera angles. The Videographer will collaborate with various departments to ensure high-quality production standards and will also be responsible for editing and assembling final visual/audio materials. A flexible work schedule is required to accommodate evening and weekend hours, as well as travel to on-site locations for tapings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning through professional experience required.
  • One year of relevant work experience required.
  • Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Radio/TV, Film, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • 3 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience editing sound, video, and color.
  • Experience in color grading, HDR production, and Next-Gen television.
  • Experience with live video productions.
  • Experience with sound production techniques including live sound and field acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • Operates still and/or video cameras for advertising, news, publicity, and storytelling.
  • Makes technical decisions regarding lighting, shooting angles, and microphone placement.
  • Monitors technical quality of video and audio recording and lighting apparatus before and during operation.
  • Edits and assembles final visual/audio program material using video editing systems, primarily Adobe Premier Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Works with Production Manager, Producer, and Media Specialist to determine personnel and equipment needs for programs.
  • Helps maintain and coordinate video production equipment storage.
  • Participates in training sessions with team members and student workers.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors as needed.
  • Provides training opportunities to team members and student workers.
