About The Position

The Networks of Mid-Missouri is looking for someone who wants to help grow the
station’s news product while growing his/her own career. The company is looking
for a Videographer. The right candidate will be excited to join a vibrant team
of journalists who remain on the cutting edge of this constantly changing field.

The Videographer’s duties will include shooting video, conducting interviews, running a backpack live unit and using other multimedia tools to gather content for newscasts, the station’s news website and other online ventures. We are looking for a creative visual storyteller who works productively as a team with a reporter or independently. The successful candidate will be expected to function within the framework of a research-driven news department that emphasizes source cultivation, enterprise reporting and breaking news. Employee must have the flexibility to work in the modern newsroom and could be called upon to beat report, produce, web edit, etc.

Requirements

• Must have a good eye for shooting
• Understanding of broadcast video equipment including editing software
• Superior news judgment
• Appreciation for the elements that make a live television newscast more watchable
• Must work well under pressure
• Must work well with other people
• Must meet strict deadlines
• Flexibility
• Valid Missouri driver’s license while driving company vehicles
• Pass a drug test and background check

Nice To Haves

• A college degree in journalism, communication or a related field
• Previous newsroom experience
