About The Position

The videographer is a visual storyteller and creative thinker, able to assemble unique and compelling videos on Options for Learning’s professional and community channels. The ideal candidate has an excellent eye for composition, strong sense of timing, and an ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexities while keeping an eye on the details and has the ability to push Options for Learning’s stylistic sensibilities while working with our brand. The videographer works closely with the larger Marketing and Recruitment and Communications departments on a variety of projects on a weekly basis, fulfilling the organization’s needs for video content on its digital outlets and live events.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, advertising, or a related field
  • Two to four years of experience in videography or video production
  • Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro or similar)
  • Proficient at storyboarding, scripting, and concepts
  • Understand basic and advanced composition techniques
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of branding
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues in audio and video
  • Proficient interview skills and getting the most out of on-camera talent
  • Experience with AI tools, specifically familiarity with AI-enhanced video editing software or platforms that incorporate AI functionalities, such as Adobe Sensei or similar tools
  • An understanding of AI principles as they apply to video production, including machine learning concepts and their applications in content creation
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Being self-motivated, collaborative, and open to feedback

  • California driver’s license, daily use of an automobile, and current automobile liability insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience working in nonprofit, child care, education, or human services (preferred)
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards, including captioning and inclusive visuals (preferred)
  • Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing video content that supports family engagement, enrollment, fundraising, and community outreach
  • Planning and managing all aspects of video production, including scripting, filming, and post-production editing
  • Capturing respectful, authentic footage of classrooms, events, staff, families, and community partners
  • Collaborating with staff and leadership to ensure accurate and mission-aligned storytelling
  • Editing videos with attention to sound quality, visual consistency, captions, and accessibility
  • Using analytics to evaluate video performance and improve future content
  • Maintaining and organizing video files, assets, and archives in organization’s digital asset management system
  • Optimizing video content for website, social media, email campaigns, and other marketing initiatives
  • Using AI-powered tools responsibly to enhance editing efficiency, captions, audio cleanup, and workflows
  • Becoming familiar with, and utilizing, the principles outlined in Marcus Sheridan’s “They Ask, You Answer” and “Endless Customers” for video strategy
  • Determining what camera equipment is necessary and obtain if needed
  • Transporting, setting up, and operating various production equipment, including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production
  • Driving regularly to offsite locations (classrooms, events, community sites, etc.), using personal vehicle
  • Abiding by all of Options for Learning’s policies and procedures
  • Attending training as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned
