The City of Glendale is seeking a skilled Videographer/Editor to join its Communications Department, which is recognized for its Emmy-award-winning media team. This role involves producing high-quality video content for various platforms, including social media and the Glendale 11 TV station, while also engaging with the community through storytelling and on-camera reporting. The ideal candidate will contribute to a dynamic team that has recently been honored as the 2024 ‘Communications Team of the Year’ by the Public Relations Society of America's Phoenix Chapter.

  • Produce high-quality short and long-form videos for the city's digital platforms and TV station.
  • Create engaging social media content that aligns with popular trends while fitting a government agency's style.
  • Independently shoot interviews and b-roll using a digital camera.
  • Edit video content for both short and long-form projects.
  • Write clear and concise scripts and copy for videos in a conversational style.
  • Gather information for projects and ensure accuracy in content.
  • Appear on camera as a city news reporter or multimedia journalist when required.
  • Serve as a director during meetings or events in the absence of the primary director.
  • Capture high-quality aerial imagery and video using drone operation.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcast producing, reporting, video production, photo journalism, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in video production, videography, editing, or digital media content creation.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, quality standards, and best practices in videography and video editing.
  • Ability to operate digital cameras, audio recording equipment, and lighting systems.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license.
  • Experience with drone photography and videography.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends.
  • Familiarity with writing show scripts.
  • Competitive salary range of $31.86 - $47.79 per hour.
