About The Position

Tyto Athene is searching for a Video Services Installation Technician with a strong working knowledge of the installation and troubleshooting associated with commercial AV systems and infrastructure, including displays, control, signal distribution, and system integration. Candidates require prior experience in environments where coordinating daily technical work, reviewing designs and documentation, and supporting installations or refresh projects were part of the role. Candidates must be comfortable working alongside colleagues, vendors, and stakeholders in cross-functional settings with shared ownership of outcomes. Candidates must be flexible for travel to customer regional locations across the United States.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting AV/IT systems installation and troubleshooting, including working with low voltage wiring, in enterprise environments.
  • Networking knowledge for AV over IP systems including familiarity with Extron, Crestron, Polycom and AMX control systems.
  • Understanding of signal flow (HDMI, DisplayPort, audio signals & IP) and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues both onsite and remotely.
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools, termination tools and testing equipment.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Teams video conferencing platforms including recording, screen sharing, and breakout room features.
  • Familiarity with the ServiceNow ticketing system.
  • Mature analytical, problem-solving, communication and customer service skills.
  • AVIXA CTS certification or equivalent experience demonstrating technical capability, accountability, and the ability to see projects through to completion.
  • Degree in audiovisual technology, electronics, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and integrating projectors, displays, LED video walls, speakers, amplifiers, microphones and other AV equipment.
  • Installing and integrating AV control hardware, CAT(5e/6/6a/s) and other cabling, speaker wire and user interface (Extron switcher, touch panels, control systems and Polycom Teams).
  • Installing and integrating cameras and camera control systems.
  • Installing and integrating digital signage players and control processors.
  • Assisting with system commissioning and signal testing.
  • Reading, interpreting and updating AV schematics and structural drawings.
  • Building and dressing equipment racks and maintaining proper cable management.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of class/conference room AV equipment.
  • Performing monthly maintenance on AV systems.
