PBS Wisconsin is seeking a creative Video Promotions Producer & Editor to join our small, talented, and versatile team. This position creates short-form videos (:15, :30, and :60 seconds) for on-air broadcast, digital, and social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. The team produces videos that communicate PBS Wisconsin’s mission and vision, highlight upcoming programming, showcase community events, and support corporate sponsorship and underwriting. Projects include producing unique, engaging promos for PBS Wisconsin original series and local partnerships. This position contributes to content across all PBS Wisconsin delivery platforms, from concept development through final delivery. Responsibilities include research, planning and scheduling production locations, shooting video and recording audio, writing and editing scripts, creating 2D and 3D graphics and animations, and managing file distribution. Multiple projects will often be in progress simultaneously. A portion of each week will also focus on deadline-driven tasks such as tagging spots and creating lineup menus for broadcast. A successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, work collaboratively with diverse teams, and maintain a flexible, open-minded approach to creative input. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines, independently or as part of a team are essential. The position reports to the Video Promotions Manager. This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position. This position is Ongoing/Renewable. This is a full-time position that works core business hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. This position works at Vilas Communication Hall on the UW-Madison campus with the option of working partially remote in a hybrid schedule. Some work may be performed remotely, at an off-site, non-campus work location. During the initial three-month training period, on-site work is required. Fully remote candidates will not be considered. Remote work requires an approved flexible work agreement (FWA). An FWA requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university provided computer. Per University policy, transportation between home and assigned work location is not payable/reimbursable and will be at the expense of the employee. This position requires the ability to sit or stand at a desk and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse for several hours at a time. The role also requires occasionally lifting and carrying supplies up to 30 lbs, as well as the ability to work outdoors in inclement weather. It is expected that employees will make individual arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions.
