About The Position

VIZ Media, the world leader in English-language manga, is seeking a Video Production Intern. The Video Production Intern will play a key role in supporting our Video Team by providing essential administrative assistance and helping with the post-production process of video assets. This position involves data management, organization of video assets, and assistant editing of various video-related projects. The ideal candidate will be interested and have a passion for applying their skill set to help organize and assist in maintaining the quality and consistency of our video products.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in video production and post-production.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Passion for organizing digital assets and maintaining file structures and systems developed by the Video Team.
  • Proficiency using Dropbox and additional file and task management software as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and professionally with members of the Video Team and other departments as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or graduate school program, OR have graduated within one year of the start of the internship
  • Be able to commute to our San Francisco office (94103)
  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of the start of the internship
  • The Video Production Intern must be local to the San Francisco Bay Area and able to commute to our San Francisco office (94103)
  • The Fall internship will run approximately 6 months, from mid-May/June through December (with flexible start/end dates depending on the school schedule). The Video Production Intern must be available to work at least 3 days per week between the hours of 10:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays, to a max of 24 hours/week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Video Team members in the post-production process, including batch exporting video clips and rough edits using company-approved templates.
  • Provide administrative support to the Video Team, helping to streamline workflows.
  • Compile and archive video materials after projects have been completed in accordance with Video Team standards and practices
  • Perform various post-production duties as needed, including but not limited to time-coding video content, adding subtitles, cutting video clips, creating video thumbnails, etc.
  • May assist the video team on in-office video productions, including company livestreams and product demos.
  • May assist in creating and/or updating promotional static assets for the Creative department.
  • In addition to these responsibilities, perform other activities as assigned.
