About The Position

The Program in Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) seeks a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach the 4 credit offering, Shooting like an Editor: Introduction to Video Production during the Fall quarter of the 2026–27 academic year. This course will focus on the technical, aesthetic, and narrative foundations of digital video editing for web, marketing, documentary, and short-form media production. The successful candidate will teach a course that introduces students to industry-standard editing workflows, including media management, storytelling through editing, pacing and rhythm, sound design, color correction, graphics integration, and final export for multiple platforms. The course should balance technical skill development with critical analysis of visual storytelling, messaging, and audience engagement. This course is part of PaCE’s expanding Art, Media, and Design offerings and may contribute to a certificate pathway in digital media production. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative, student-centered curriculum that integrates theory with hands-on practice. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, Media Studies, Digital Media, Communications, or a closely related field
  • Master’s degree and/or at least 5 years of professional experience in video editing or post-production
  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
  • Teaching experience in a classroom, workshop, or professional training environment
  • Professional experience editing video content for business, nonprofit, documentary, or creative media contexts
