Meeting autonomously with victims/witnesses in criminal cases and acting as a liaison between prosecutors and victim/witnesses, as cases progress through the criminal justice system. Providing information in non-technical terms to crime victims and witnesses regarding the criminal justice process and providing related emotional support. Keeping staff advised on contacts with victims and witnesses, and notating case files in a timely manner. Performing a variety of duties requiring knowledge of the policies and practices of the State’s Attorney’s Office and the law enforcement community. Collecting and entering data and maintaining documentation for general case purposes and in support of grants. Other duties as assigned by the State’s Attorney. Timely and regular attendance is required as is the ability to interact productively with co-workers and satisfactorily perform the duties and functions of the job.
