Denton County Friends of the Family Legal Services Program provides direct legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, which includes providing legal advice and referrals in person and on virtual platforms, representing victims in court, and advocating on behalf of victims who are navigating the criminal justice system. Depending on the needs of the program, this position will provide trauma-informed services to victims through providing legal advice and referrals in person and on virtual platforms, representing clients in litigation, advocating for the rights of victims in criminal cases and parole proceedings. This is a hybrid remote position. The attorney in this position is expected to maintain the highest ethical and professional standards as a member of the State Bar; adhere to the American Bar Association Standards for the Provision of Civil Legal Aid; embrace and support DCFOF’s overall mission; and comply with all grant requirements, regulations, standards, policies, and confidentiality requirements.
