About The Position

The Victim Advocate position at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is designed to provide crisis intervention and support to victims of crime. The role involves assessing victims' immediate needs, offering information and referrals, and acting as a liaison with law enforcement agencies. Additionally, the advocate will conduct public presentations and provide education and training to department members and other law enforcement agencies. Requirements

• Associate's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Science, Communications, Social Services, Mental Health, Health Services, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
• Two years of paid or volunteer experience providing direct services to crime victims, including crisis intervention and advocacy.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Nevada driver license.

• Familiarity with the criminal justice system and processes for crime victims.
• Experience with public speaking.
• More than two years of paid or volunteer experience providing direct services to crime victims.
