About The Position

The Vice President of Tax for North America will provide strategic leadership for tax-related matters, ensuring compliance with complex tax regulations while optimizing the company's tax position. This role involves overseeing a high-performing tax team, engaging in strategic tax planning, and serving as the main point of contact for US tax matters within the Rentokil Initial Group.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of tax experience, preferably in a service industry.
  • Strategic knowledge of finance principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of business strategy and operations.
  • Skill and ability to operate and manage within a matrix organization.
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to analyze and interpret financial data and solve complex financial problems.
  • Knowledge and skill to develop, implement and execute policies.
  • Systemic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Project management knowledge and skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CPA, and/or a law degree are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the development and implementation of the company's global tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation.
  • Ensures strict adherence to complex federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations, mitigating potential legal and financial risks.
  • Proactively identifies and executes tax-efficient strategies to optimize the company's tax position, maximizing shareholder value.
  • Actively participates in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions, providing strategic tax advice and managing tax-related risks.
  • Provides expert tax counsel to executive leadership on complex tax matters, including personal tax planning and compliance.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with external tax authorities, auditors, and legal advisors to effectively resolve tax issues and minimize disputes.
  • Leads and mentors a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Drives the adoption of advanced tax technologies and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates global tax risks, including transfer pricing, international tax, and indirect tax.
