About The Position

The Vice President, Strategic Communications Business Partners position is responsible for overseeing a team of communicators who manage strategic business communications for Marriott's senior leadership, including the CEO and Chairman. This role focuses on ensuring alignment and consistency in messaging across corporate disciplines, driving strategic communications for high-priority projects, and enhancing internal communications through innovative methods. The position also involves managing Board of Directors presentations and developing best-in-class communication practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing.
  • 12 years of communications experience in internal communications, preferably in the hospitality business.
  • Experience working with executive and senior leadership communications in fast-paced situations.
  • Strong verbal and written executive communications skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective strategic communications plans.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and excellent time management.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to build relationships at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Strategic Business Communications Partners to support the CEO, Chairman, and corporate discipline EVPs.
  • Oversee all executive, organizational, and internal communications activities across corporate disciplines.
  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure a clear and connected messaging strategy aligned with the Growing Forward strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to maintain consistent messaging strategies across internal and external audiences.
  • Assign work and oversee strategic communications for prioritized projects under the Growing Forward strategy.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class communications practices across the team.
  • Identify opportunities for hotel, owner, and associate messaging anchored in corporate disciplines and SLT communications strategies.
  • Oversee the development of engaging creative and visuals to elevate communications for the SLT and corporate disciplines.
  • Ensure best practices are used for communications channels and utilize data analytics to drive channel strategy.
  • Develop an integrated process for Board of Directors presentations, incorporating best practices and review standards.
