POSITION SUMMARY The VP of Software Quality Engineering is a senior technology leader responsible for establishing and executing the enterprise vision for software quality across all applications, data platforms, and supporting frameworks. This role oversees the full spectrum of quality practices—from traditional QA to modern QE approaches—ensuring robust, scalable, and automated processes that deliver exceptional client-facing solutions. The VP will drive innovation in testing methodologies, automation, performance engineering, quality process and delivery transparency reporting and quality governance while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. DESCRIPTION Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Define and implement the enterprise-wide strategy for Software Quality Engineering and Assurance. Align quality initiatives with organizational goals, technology roadmaps, and business priorities. Champion modern engineering practices, including shift-left testing, continuous integration, AI based quality automation and DevOps alignment. Quality Engineering & Automation Advance automation frameworks and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable delivery. Drive adoption of performance engineering, security testing, and resilience strategies. Introduce progressive testing concepts such as risk-based testing, service virtualization, and AI-driven test optimization. Quality Assurance & Governance Establish governance for defect management, compliance, and risk mitigation across all platforms. Ensure end-to-end test coverage for applications, data, ETL processes, and integrations, including load and performance testing guidance. Define and enforce standards for documentation, reporting, and quality metrics. Metrics & Continuous Improvement Develop and report KPIs for product quality health, engineering efficiency, and team performance. Use data-driven insights to identify gaps and implement process improvements. Foster a culture of accountability where quality issues drive learning and innovation. Collaboration & Influence Partner with senior leaders in Development, Data Engineering, Automation, and Product Management. Influence enterprise technology decisions to embed quality engineering principles early in the lifecycle. Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on quality risks and opportunities. People Leadership Build and scale a high-performing global SQE/QA organization. Recruit, mentor, and develop technical and leadership talent. Promote diversity, inclusion, and a culture of excellence aligned with organizational values. Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others. Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Software Eng, Computer Science or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive related experience
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures and microservices testing strategies.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven testing tools and predictive analytics for quality.
  • Background in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, mortgage) with strong compliance knowledge.
  • Track record of leading enterprise-scale automation transformations.
  • Experience with global delivery models and vendor management.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to define long-term vision and translate it into actionable plans.
