About The Position
Marriott International, Inc. is the world's largest hotel company and is based in Bethesda, Maryland. Marriott operates and franchises hotels and licenses vacation ownership resorts and branded residential properties. Marriott's Law Department supports the Company's global lodging and hospitality business and provides legal advice and counsel to Marriott's internal clients. The Dispute Resolution practice group oversees the majority of Marriott's litigation matters, except for labor and employment matters, tax litigation, and personal injury/insured claims. The group's docket includes a wide variety of matters including contractual disputes, international arbitrations, consumer class actions, IP litigation, antitrust matters, ADA claims, tort claims, government investigations, and other matters. The Vice President & Senior Legal Counsel for Dispute Resolution is responsible for managing litigation and conflict resolution strategy in court, arbitration proceedings and non-judicial forums, as well as assessing litigation risk situations in collaboration with other practice groups in the Law Department. The attorney in this position takes a lead role on significant matters, provides legal assistance and advice to business colleagues within Marriott, and partners with outside counsel, vendors, and consultants. Together with the SVP and Associate General Counsel, this attorney will manage litigation matters, disputes, and risk mitigation strategies. The VP & Senior Legal Counsel position is located in Bethesda and reports directly to the SVP & Associate General Counsel - Dispute Resolution.
