About The Position

This role will lead MSCI’s SEC reporting and global consolidation processes, serving as a key member of the Finance Controllers organization. The Vice President will oversee the preparation, structure, and governance of quarterly and annual SEC filings, while also providing strategic oversight of the global consolidation function. This position combines operational leadership with a transformation mandate. While existing close and consolidation processes are established, this role will be responsible for enhancing efficiency, strengthening controls, and modernizing reporting through process optimization and thoughtful application of automation and AI-enabled tools. The successful candidate will partner closely across Finance, Investor Relations, Internal Audit, and global controllership teams to elevate the quality, speed, and insight of MSCI’s external reporting and consolidation processes. This is a high-visibility role with broad enterprise impact and meaningful opportunities to drive innovation within a global, publicly traded organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or industry accounting within a publicly traded organization
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong experience with SEC reporting, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Experience working within global finance organizations
  • Exposure to financial consolidation processes and enterprise reporting systems
  • Experience with ERP and consolidation platforms such as SAP ECC, BPC, or similar systems
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, enhance controls, and implement automation initiatives
  • Executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and governance of Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and other SEC filings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Lead the team responsible for rolling forward disclosures, supporting schedules, and reporting artifacts in advance of quarter-end timelines
  • Structure and continuously improve the quarterly and annual reporting process to enhance efficiency, accountability, and transparency
  • Coordinate with Internal Audit on matters related to external reporting and controls
  • Partner closely with Investor Relations to support earnings releases and related investor materials
  • Drive consistency and quality across disclosures through benchmarking and best-practice implementation
  • Provide leadership and strategic oversight of the global consolidation function, including review of consolidated financial results and related reporting outputs
  • Oversee the consolidation process within SAP ECC and BPC environments, ensuring integrity, completeness, and timeliness of data flows
  • Evaluate and enhance close and consolidation processes to improve scalability, efficiency, and control rigor
  • Partner with global controllership teams to streamline intercompany, foreign currency, and entity-level reporting processes
  • Support ongoing evolution of financial systems and infrastructure, including future-state ERP and consolidation enhancements
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the global close process
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools across SEC reporting and consolidation workflows
  • Drive modernization of disclosure drafting, review workflows, variance analysis, and close analytics
  • Champion intelligent process redesign to reduce manual effort and enhance data integrity
  • Establish forward-looking reporting processes that are scalable and adaptable to business growth
  • Lead special projects aligned with finance transformation priorities
