Ares is seeking an analyst to serve as a Salesforce Developer for Client Platforms Technology, the engineering team responsible for all Client facing systems within Ares, including Sales, Marketing, Client Reporting, and Digital/Web platforms. Reporting to a Vice-President leading one of our delivery verticals, the successful candidate will play a hands‑on role in designing, building, and implementing Salesforce solutions that support the client relationship management needs of the Institutional and Wealth Management businesses. Working under the guidance of the Salesforce Architect and in partnership with the teams product managers, this individual will configure Salesforce features, develop custom components, and contribute to enhancements that drive efficiency, improve user experience, and deliver business value. This is an ideal role for someone early in their Salesforce career who is passionate about technology, eager to deepen their understanding of asset management, and committed to continuous learning. The Developer will work closely with business users, analysts, and technical peers to transform requirements into effective, high‑quality Salesforce solutions aligned with the firm’s architectural standards.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of Salesforce development or configuration experience (professional or project‑based).
  • Familiarity with Salesforce core clouds (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) and Salesforce Platform capabilities.
  • Hands‑on experience with Apex classes, triggers, SOQL/SOSL, Lightning Web Components, and Flow Builder.
  • Understanding of Salesforce data model and fundamental CRM concepts.
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into technical deliverables.
  • A strong desire to learn, grow, and expand both technical and business knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Engineering or Computer Science background preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to financial services or interest in learning asset management products and workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and using DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Copado).
  • Familiarity with integration tools, APIs, or middleware.
  • Experience with Lightning Experience customization and UI design.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer I, Administrator, or App Builder are helpful (or a demonstrated commitment to obtaining them).

Responsibilities

  • Salesforce Development & Configuration Build and enhance Salesforce functionality using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and declarative configuration.
  • Implement user stories and requirements in alignment with architectural guidance and established coding standards.
  • Customize objects, fields, page layouts, record types, flows, validation rules, profiles, and permission sets.
  • Develop integrations with upstream and downstream systems using Salesforce APIs and integration patterns.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and release deployments.
  • Collaboration & Delivery Work closely with the Salesforce Architect to ensure solutions align with platform strategy and long‑term design principles.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and end users to clarify requirements and understand business workflows.
  • Partner with QA teams to support testing cycles and resolve defects.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and Agile delivery activities.
  • Learning, Growth & Business Knowledge Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in learning the asset management business, its products, and its client engagement model.
  • Stay current on Salesforce platform updates, new features, and best practices—especially in areas such as Flow automation, LWC, and platform AI capabilities.
  • Seek opportunities for professional development, certifications, and skill advancement.
  • Contribute ideas for improving system usability, efficiency, and data quality.
  • Operational Support Assist with troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and daily support of Salesforce users.
  • Maintain and update documentation, including technical designs and configuration inventories.
  • Help ensure data accuracy, performance, and security within the Salesforce environment.
