The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is a senior executive responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting sales and marketing activities to drive profitable growth, increase market share, and enhance gross margins across all business segments. This role provides strategic leadership to the sales and marketing teams, oversees key account representatives, and works collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless business operations. As an internal candidate, your existing knowledge of our markets, customers, and organizational culture will be a critical advantage, allowing you to accelerate impact, support our mission, and lead with confidence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including strong sales management and P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success in sales or marketing leadership within the company or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, CRM platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Proven adherence to company values and lean principles.
  • Ability to move about office, warehouse, and client sites as needed (25%-50% of work time).
  • Out-of-town travel required.
  • Valid and current driver’s license required.
  • Moderate noise level; exposure to varied office and warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals and market opportunities.
  • Leverage internal insights to identify growth areas, anticipate challenges, and adjust plans for optimal results.
  • Provide coaching, training, and professional development to Account Executives and Marketing Team Members, cultivating a culture of industry-leading customer service.
  • Empower team members by sharing best practices and facilitating collaboration across departments.
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Operations and Regional Managers to ensure seamless project implementation and communication regarding product portfolio changes.
  • Use your internal network to remove barriers and drive cross-functional success.
  • Ensure Account Executives are fully supported by sales enablement and marketing resources, anticipating and exceeding their needs.
  • Champion customer feedback and insights, integrating them into sales strategies and service improvements.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly sales progress reports, including forecasts, variance analysis, and presentations for the President and Board of Directors.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets to ensure responsible financial stewardship.
  • Lead the marketing department to create effective, cost-efficient advertising, promotional, and incentive programs that drive customer loyalty and strengthen our value proposition.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor partners, managing relationships and negotiating terms to support business objectives.
  • Participate in strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging your understanding of our business processes to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to company values, ethical standards, and safety guidelines.
