About The Position

Rolling Stone is seeking a Vice President, Revenue Strategy & Operations to join our Advertising organization. Reporting to the SVP of Sales & Partnerships, this leader will be responsible for shaping and executing strategies that maximize the value of Rolling Stone’s media inventory and drive sustainable advertising revenue growth across platforms. The VP, Revenue Operations will lead analytical, operational, and strategic efforts across revenue-facing functions, combining rigorous data-driven decision-making with strong cross-functional collaboration. This role is critical to ensure Rolling Stone delivers exceptional value to brand and agency partners while supporting the long-term growth of our iconic media business. You will oversee multiple teams, including Ad Operations, Media Planning, Client Success, Yield Management, Analytics, and Programmatic Operations. You will also work closely with partners across Product, Data & Analytics, Finance, Sales, and Marketing, and serve as a key member of the Advertising Leadership Team. This is a role based in New York, NY, with an in-office presence four days per week (Monday through Thursday).

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in digital media or digital advertising
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams, including senior leaders
  • 8+ years of experience working with ad servers in client success, campaign management, or ad operations roles
  • 5+ years of experience partnering closely with FP&A and finance teams
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive revenue growth in a complex media organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams across functions and levels.
  • Design and implement revenue-accretive initiatives that unlock the full value of Rolling Stone’s digital and experiential media offerings.
  • Build efficient, scalable team structures aligned to business priorities and the evolving needs of brand and agency partners.
  • Develop revenue and operational strategies that support digital profitability and align with broader advertising and company goals.
  • Oversee optimization of on-site and off-site inventory supply, partnering with Sales Planning and Yield teams to maximize revenue outcomes.
  • Use revenue insights, forecasting, and campaign performance trends to inform strategic media planning that balances client objectives with business needs.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to guide the Client Success organization, ensuring exceptional service, campaign performance, and long-term client relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with Advertising Finance, FP&A, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, and Sales to support executive decision-making and long-range planning.
  • Prepare and present clear, insightful business reviews and performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Direct the development of systems, processes, and workflows that improve operational accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Lead revenue analytics efforts to support smart decision-making, forecasting, and performance measurement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Finance to deliver concise, accurate reporting for advertising leadership.
  • Thoughtfully manage budgets and make responsible investment recommendations to support growth initiatives.
  • Build and apply expertise on evolving digital advertising, programmatic, and media industry trends to inform strategy and operations.
  • Represent Rolling Stone externally with clients, partners, and at industry events and forums.
  • Champion Rolling Stone’s mission, brand values, and editorial integrity, supporting the company’s commitment to independent journalism and cultural influence.
