About The Position

Avoq is seeking a Vice President to join our Reputation Management team and accelerate our firm’s growth across a diverse grouping of industries, sectors, and issues with a focus on energy expertise. Has earned a reputation with clients as a trusted advisor and innovative problem solver Embraces and capitalizes on change to develop campaigns within the context of an ever-evolving political, corporate and media landscape WHAT YOU’LL DO Secure and support the generation or management of a $500K-1.25M portfolio of business annually Serve as a strategic communications leader with deep energy and infrastructure industry expertise, translating complex regulatory, policy, and market dynamics (e.g., utilities, renewables, energy transition) into clear, compelling narratives for internal and external stakeholders, including media, customers, policymakers and community leaders. Previous in-house utilities or agency experience preferred. Lead high-impact communications initiatives that require direct experience in the energy sector, as well as issues management tied to infrastructure, sustainability, and energy market developments. Create high-impact strategies and leverage your team to optimize impact and results Lead new business development efforts, including strategy development and management of pitch teams Successfully integrate digital/online and planning products and services into new business opportunities Design and manage client budgets and work plans to meet financial objectives YOUR EXPERIENCE As a qualified candidate, you have experience in all areas below: Effective at securing new business as a member of a pitch team Deep understanding of at least one business sector, issue, and/or policy/regulatory area and uses such expertise to raise the visibility of the firm externally (speaking opportunities, op-ed’s/white paper, etc.) Leadership and management skills across the firm with account teams and clients Ability to manage time across multiple assignments and clients including new business opportunities Expertise at creating comprehensive communications strategy and solutions As an exceptional candidate, you possess many of the following attributes: Experience developing and leading large-scale communications or campaigns Ability to navigate the rapidly shifting, news, digital and data analytics landscape, and can creatively apply insights to client situations Track record of designing systems and teams that ensure that everyone can thrive Ability to grow and expand client relationships and budgets Strong relationships with executives and communication professionals associated with an industry or sector of expertise Candidates need not possess every attribute listed above to qualify for a role.
