About The Position

This role is responsible for facilitating growth for the Bank through business development and the management of key client relationships. It requires maintaining a continuous record of significant revenue generation from sales and syndications. The Vice President acts as an escalation point for complex client issues, utilizing strategic problem-solving to resolve conflicts and maintain strong client relationships. Key responsibilities include leading the structuring of high-value, complex deals and credit approvals, ensuring alignment with client needs and bank objectives. The position also involves overseeing credit approvals, driving pricing coordination, and acting as the primary client advocate. The role drives negotiations for high-value transactions, manages high-value client portfolios, and implements cross-selling initiatives to transition opportunities into revenue-generating sales. It leads market coverage strategies to expand portfolios and identify opportunities, and represents the bank at industry forums and conferences to leverage insights on trends, competition, and emerging products. The Vice President engages with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align strategies and address client needs, delivering reports on team performance, client satisfaction, and market trends to inform corporate strategy. Strategic advisory on loan products, options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements is also a core function, ensuring tailored solutions for clients. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong long-term relationships with high-value and strategic clients, providing financial advice and ensuring exceptional service. It involves analyzing market trends, client industry developments, and competitive positioning to optimize client satisfaction, and working closely with internal teams to define suitable products and solutions. The position identifies share of wallet opportunities and leverages analysis tools to grow portfolios that exceed ROE thresholds. Furthermore, it ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance policies, operating at a group/enterprise-wide level as a specialist resource to senior leaders. The role requires applying expertise creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations, finding solutions to complex problems, and implementing changes in response to shifting trends. It also involves taking measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Relationship Management, Account Management or Portfolio Management in a corporate or similar segmented banking environment with sales metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • If a Credit Qualifiable role, Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Project Management.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Change Management.
  • Expert level of proficiency in Product Knowledge.
  • Expert level of proficiency in Regulatory Compliance.
  • Expert level of proficiency in Structuring Deals.

  • Delivers reports to the bank’s leadership on team performance, client satisfaction, market trends, and key strategic initiatives, delivering insights that inform corporate strategy.
  • Drives strategic advisory on loan products, options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements, ensuring tailored solutions that align with client needs and business objectives.
  • Builds and maintains strong long-term relationships with the bank’s high-value and strategic clients, providing strategic advice on financial solutions and ensuring exceptional service and partnership.
  • Structures deals, secures credit approvals, negotiates high-value transactions, and identifies opportunities for cross-selling.
  • Analyzes market trends, client industry developments, and competitive positioning to inform client solution strategies and optimize client satisfaction.
  • Works closely with internal teams and stakeholders to define products, solutions and strategies that best fit clients’ needs.
