Job Overview The Vice President, Product Development is a key leadership role responsible for defining and executing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Nikkiso Cryogenic Services. This position oversees the full product lifecycle—from concept and market assessment through development, commercialization, and end-of-life management. The individual will lead and grow a high-performing product organization encompassing both commercial and technical disciplines, ensuring delivery of innovative, value-driven products that meet customer needs and drive business growth. This leader must demonstrate strong business acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, operations, service, sales, and executive leadership. The Head of Product Development plays a critical role in driving competitive positioning, accelerating revenue potential, and strengthening NCS market leadership within the cryogenic and clean energy industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Management, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in product development/management roles, ideally in industrial equipment, cryogenics, energy, or adjacent technology sectors.
  • Proven leadership background managing cross-functional product or technical teams.
  • Track record delivering successful product launches and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cryogenic or high-reliability industrial systems.
  • Familiarity with aftermarket service product offerings and lifecycle revenue models.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership Develop and own the product development strategy aligned with business goals and market opportunities.
  • Manage product portfolio positioning, lifecycle strategy, pricing approach, and roadmap execution.
  • Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and new business opportunities.
  • Build, lead, and scale an integrated product development team covering product management, commercialization, and technical development streams.
  • Product & Portfolio Management Oversee product strategy from concept to commercialization, including business case development, value proposition, and launch plans.
  • Drive product performance metrics including margin, adoption rate, customer satisfaction, and ROI.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on customer value, resource availability, and financial impact.
  • Ensure timely product delivery through cross-functional alignment with engineering, operations, and supply chain.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as strategic interface between commercial, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regional stakeholders.
  • Partner with sales teams to develop go-to-market strategy, product positioning, and commercial enablement tools.
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and industry channels to capture voice-of-customer and validate product direction.
  • Operational Excellence Establish processes and governance for product lifecycle management and stage-gate development.
  • Optimize resource allocation, project timelines, and budget planning.
  • Champion product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
