About The Position

The Vice President, Process Engineering is responsible for documenting, redesigning, and optimizing organizational processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and impact across the enterprise. This role will focus on establishing an enterprise-wide process improvement framework, embedding standardized documentation practices, and ensuring that critical workflows are aligned with OFN’s strategic priorities. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Data, the VP, Process Engineering will partner with leaders across Finance, Membership, Investment Services, Development, Policy and others to re-engineer critical workflows, reduce operational friction, and enable consistent, data-driven decision-making. This leader will build a culture of continuous improvement that strengthens OFN’s capacity to support Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Administration or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering, business process improvement, or operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in process redesign, workflow automation, and cross-functional change management.
  • Strong track record of influencing and persuading senior executives to adopt new approaches.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Strong background in organizational design, process documentation, and performance measurement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must possess a strong passion for, understanding of, and commitment to OFN’s mission, vision, and values. In addition, be a fearless advocate, who is confident and resilient in OFN’s fight to drive capital into low-income communities.

Responsibilities

  • Process Engineering Strategy and Leadership
  • Develop and execute a process engineering strategy that aligns with OFN’s organizational goals.
  • Establish an enterprise framework for documenting, analyzing, and improving business processes across all departments.
  • Drive organizational adoption of process standards and ensure consistent application across teams.
  • Lead change management initiatives, securing buy-in from senior leadership and staff to sustain process improvements.
  • Process Design, Automation, and Optimization
  • Map, assess, and redesign core business processes to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce manual work, and enhance accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to streamline operations.
  • Establish standardized processes for data collection, validation, and reporting to strengthen organizational performance and impact measurement.
  • Develop KPIs and monitoring systems to measure process effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Influence
  • Partner with senior leaders across departments to diagnose pain points and co-design scalable process solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring that process changes are integrated into daily operations and aligned with OFN’s strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions that bring diverse perspectives together, ensuring that redesigned processes are practical and widely supported.
  • Build and maintain credibility with stakeholders through clear communication, evidence-based recommendations, and demonstrated results.
  • Continuous Improvement and Organizational Learning
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, tools, and best practices in business process management, automation, and organizational design.
  • Implement a continuous improvement mindset, driving iterative refinements to business processes and workflows.
  • Promote knowledge-sharing and process literacy across OFN, ensuring staff understand and can effectively use new workflows.
