Responsibilities PJT Camberview, PJT Partners’ industry leading shareholder advisory business, advises public company boards and management teams on building productive relationships with investors and navigating complex shareholder matters, including on shareholder engagement, strategic investor relations, activism and contested situations, sustainability and corporate governance. PJT Camberview seeks an experienced and highly motivated Vice President to join our Governance Advisory team. The individual in this role will be responsible for developing and delivering advice to senior executives and directors at public company clients on shareholder-related matters. This includes leading execution of client deliverables and providing investor perspectives, analysis and guidance to clients on a range of topics including: shareholder engagement strategies, corporate governance, executive compensation, ESG disclosure, shareholder proposals, and tactics to navigate high stakes shareholder challenges, such as complex executive pay situations, director withhold campaigns, reputational risk matters and shareholder activism. The candidate will demonstrate an ability to develop and translate a deep understanding of the investor landscape and developments related to the topics noted above into actionable advice for clients.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in roles such as an investor role analysing governance matters and/or an advisory role providing strategic advice to public companies on shareholder engagement, corporate governance, ESG, executive compensation, investor relations or other related fields.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and express complex strategies in an organized manner, both verbally and in written and visual form through use of Word, PowerPoint, email and other formats
  • Proven ability to develop written and thought leadership materials.
  • Track record of successful engagement with senior level corporate leaders.
  • Outstanding leadership qualities that have proven to bring the best out of colleagues.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach to work with sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, detailed-oriented and proactive.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel; preference for familiarity with platforms such as FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Diligent, ISS, and/or Glass Lewis.
  • Bachelor's Degree; with a strong academic record.

Nice To Haves

  • JD, MBA or advanced degree in ESG-related field a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work Closely with Senior Team Members to Lead Execution of Client Engagements
  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day client engagements with support of senior team members as needed.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships and support senior team in expanding relationships at the client as appropriate.
  • Work with senior team members to deliver advice and present materials to senior client executives and board directors across a range of investor-related matters.
  • Conduct analyses of clients’ challenges, messaging gaps and board, governance, executive compensation and ESG practices.
  • Develop strategies for engaging with and securing support of investors.
  • Lead teams of analysts and associates in the development of client materials and analyses, providing support from origination to execution and finalization.
  • Effectively collaborate with business partners across PJT and efficiently leverage diverse expertise to address client issues.
  • Contribute to Thought Leadership and Business Development
  • Lead thought leadership research and participate on working teams that develop industry-leading perspectives that drive client success.
  • Proactively follow and analyze industry trends and their impact on clients, prospects and PJT Camberview’s business to enhance PJT’s brand in the market, including through supporting the creation of externally-facing materials.
  • Partner with senior team members to pursue new business opportunities within existing client base and wider market.
  • Support senior team members in evaluating opportunities with potential clients and developing pitch materials with support from junior team.

  • Serve as a leader and mentor to analysts and associates, helping to develop the next generation of leaders at PJT.
  • Contribute to PJT Camberview’s collaborative and dynamic culture.
  • Identify development opportunities for team members and support their learning and growth opportunities.
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting high calibre talent to PJT.
