We are looking for a Vice President to join our Performance Media team in NYC. The Paid Media Team is where the storytelling of creative, the scale of advertising, and data & analytics connect. We take a data-first approach to everything, with the ultimate goal of moving people across all industries and objectives. The Vice President, Paid Media & Innovation will be both a leading digital media resource and a driver of next-generation capabilities within the agency. This role combines proven client leadership with a mandate to pilot new approaches, codify scalable offerings, and help shape the future of Burson's paid media capabilities. This is an opportunity to lead award-winning strategies and deliver measurable performance for clients, while also shaping the future of Burson media offerings.

  • Lead accounts focused on developing media strategies for key clients across the agency.
  • Oversee the development, launch, monitoring, and optimization of media campaigns to drive performance.
  • Provide thought leadership on campaign strategy, audience segmentation, and cross-channel optimization.
  • Identify and lead Innovation Pilots (e.g., retail media, influencer amplification, shoppable formats, AI-driven audience approaches) with clients.
  • Translate pilot outcomes into repeatable, scalable offerings for use across the agency and in new business.
  • Analyze campaign metrics and performance to highlight key takeaways, translating into client-facing communication in email, PowerPoint and Excel reports.
  • Develop reliable relationships with clients, vendors and publications.
  • Handle operational structures involving team and agency dynamics focused on growth.
  • Train and attend training courses of direct marketing execution and new product updates, staying up to date on the changing advertising industry.
  • Grow as both a leader within the performance media team and at Burson.
  • 10-12 years of progressive levels of responsibility in media planning and buying across multiple brands and sectors.
  • 6-8 years of demonstrated success in managing and leading people, teams and clients.
  • Prior experience executing successful campaigns with industry tools (Facebook Ads Manager, Facebook Business Manager, X (Twitter) Ads, LinkedIn Ads Manager, YouTube, Snap, Tiktok, Google Search, Google Display Network, Google Analytics, The Trade Desk, DV360, etc.).
  • Performance-focused marketer.
  • Extensive work testing & optimizing strategy, using data to inform strategy.
  • Experience in setting up functional ways of working processes, best practices and center of excellence models.
  • Knowledge of Web Analytics report suites such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, marketing, teamwork, and communication skills, as well as be detail oriented and extremely organized.
  • Forward-thinking, resourceful and curious, with the ability to work across different departments.
  • Ability to take analysis (e.g. reporting, insights and analytics) and drive real world solutions.
  • Proven experience in delivering clear, strategic presentations to senior-level marketing executives.
  • Deep understanding of cross channel performance marketing including search, social, programmatic and display.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills along with strong attention to detail.
  • Desire to work in a diverse and inclusive organization as an active participant in culture initiatives, training opportunities and employee resource groups.
  • Leading Innovation Pilots and transforming results into agency-wide offerings.
  • New business leadership where media innovation was a differentiator.
  • Experience with influencer amplification, retail media, digital partnerships, or emerging formats (audio, CTV, shoppable video).
