About The Position

The YWCA Clark County is seeking a full-time, exempt Human Resources Manager to oversee various HR functions while promoting social justice and equity within the organization. This role includes managing the full-cycle hiring process, providing HR guidance to leadership, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The position emphasizes the importance of treating all individuals with respect and dignity, and it requires a strong commitment to anti-racism and social equity principles. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday, with an innovative 4-day, 32-hour work week pilot program that includes 8 hours of Company Sponsored Time on Fridays.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in a related field.
  • HR certifications (SPHR, PHR, etc.) preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience working in the human resources field, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience managing an HR department, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to empower and provide positive and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to maintain strong boundaries and demonstrate integrity.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong technological skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong public speaking and writing skills.
  • Strong soft skills to improve efficiency and morale.

Responsibilities

  • Assure that participants, staff, volunteers and community partners are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, ethnic background, gender or socioeconomic background.
  • Gain approval for, track, and engage in activities that meet the organization's 1% for Social Change requirement.
  • Think through the lens of racial equity and its intersections with poverty.
  • Incorporate the YWCA's commitment to social justice by understanding how racism, sexism, classism and other oppressions intersect and are embedded in institutions.
  • Supervise two staff members: the Office Manager and People and Culture Generalist.
  • Manage each step of the full-cycle hiring process.
  • Review, revise, and post open position announcements.
  • Support Hiring Manager through the full hiring process.
  • Write and provide an offer letter to the selected candidate.
  • Process reference and criminal history background checks.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure proper onboarding of new staff.
  • Facilitate voluntary and/or involuntary terminations and manage all related paperwork and documentation.
  • Provide, track, and process exit interview surveys to determine the reasons behind, and to improve upon, the organization's turn-over rate.
  • Provide best-practices based HR guidance to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Director's HR Committee, and Board of Directors as needed and requested.
  • Work directly with management team members to resolve performance impacting conflict within their teams.
  • Work in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Board of Director's HR Committee to review, revise, and implement a sustainable and competitive compensation strategy.
  • Work with relevant accounting staff to reconcile bills for HR related services.
  • Review, evaluate, and promote appropriate professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Review organizational policies, procedures, and practices relating to employment to ensure alignment with state and federal law.
  • Work with internal and external resources to develop and promote effective self-care techniques for staff.
  • Collect, track, and process health insurance enrollment forms during open-enrollment.
  • Consult with legal counsel as appropriate or as directed.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff experiencing personal and/or professional conflict.
  • Respond to feedback, questions, and concerns from internal and external community partners.
