About The Position

The Vice President of Warehouse Operations is responsible for leading all warehouse functions across Lipari Foods' multi-site distribution network. This executive role owns all aspects of warehouse strategy, facility operations, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, safety, staffing, and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO), the Vice President will lead safe, efficient, and cost-effective warehouse operations that meet service-level commitments and enable the company's growth strategy. This role is responsible for optimizing throughput, increasing productivity, and maximizing space and labor utilization across a multi-site distribution network. The VP will oversee strategic planning, process optimization, team development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless, high-performance execution. Key responsibilities include driving warehouse strategy, managing capital and operating budgets, and ensuring full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, or supply chain operations, including 5+ years in an upper level leadership role.
  • Proven track record managing in a large-scale, multi-site warehouse operations within a complex and high-velocity distribution network.
  • Deep expertise in inventory management, labor planning, order fulfillment, facility layout and throughput optimization.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse regulatory and safety compliance, including OSHA, FDA, and food handling standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage capital and expense budgets with a focus on cost control and productivity improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with WMS and data-driven reporting tools.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, customer-driven, growth-oriented environment.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the greater Detroit area.
  • Flexibility to travel to warehouse locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, food safety, and internal safety protocols across all warehouse operations.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing warehouse team including directors, managers, supervisors, selectors, and support staff.
  • Develop and execute warehouse strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, loading, and shipping.
  • Own capital and operating budgets for warehouse operations.
  • Design scalable staffing and scheduling models to meet seasonal and long-term demand.
  • Lead lean initiatives and process optimization efforts to increase throughput, reduce waste, improve accuracy, and enhance service.
  • Own and track warehouse KPIs (e.g., order accuracy, units picked per hour, shrink, throughput, inventory turns).
  • Partner with transportation, procurement, sales, customer service, and finance to ensure alignment and seamless execution of customer orders.
  • Maximize the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation tools.
