About The Position

The Vice President of Undergraduate Medical Education Services at AACOM is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing student-oriented programs that support medical students from the application process through graduation. This position involves championing student affairs, managing the Centralized Application Service (AACOMAS), developing national recruitment strategies, innovating admissions practices, promoting diversity and inclusion, and engaging stakeholders to enhance student success in medical education.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or advanced degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of mid- to senior-level management experience in higher education.
  • Extensive knowledge in higher education recruitment and admissions, ideally within medical education.
  • Experience with digital tools and artificial intelligence to optimize recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Experience working with outreach programs supporting historically underrepresented minority groups.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial projections.

  • Experience in medical education, especially osteopathic medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and organize comprehensive programs that support students from application through graduation.
  • Manage AACOM's Centralized Application Service (AACOMAS), ensuring smooth operation and service quality.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate a national recruitment plan in partnership with the recruitment team and COMAO.
  • Leverage technology, including artificial intelligence, to enhance recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President for Graduate Medical Education Services to support student transitions to residency matches.
  • Lead initiatives to increase diversity in medical school admissions and ensure inclusive student services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with medical school admissions officers and represent AACOM in national forums.
  • Contribute to organizational strategies that enhance student services and support student success.
