About The Position

The Vice President of Technical Operations reports to the COO and serves as his lead technical advisor. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for supporting site operational teams, driving operational excellence across critical environments, ensuring technical standards are upheld, supporting growth and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. This role will oversee three key functional areas: Critical Environment Management (CEM), Operational Engineering, and Technical Training, aligning them with the organization's operational goals and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of critical operations.
  • Proven experience in a senior technical operations role, ideally within critical infrastructure or data centre environments.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and geographies.
  • Deep understanding of CEM principles, technical operations, and adult learning methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic oversight of all critical environments, ensuring uptime, resilience, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including operational risk assessments and incident response protocols.
  • Development of the Operational Playbook at supporting platforms.
  • Collaborate with regional and site-level teams to ensure consistent execution of CEM policies and procedures.
  • Drive innovation in environmental monitoring, energy efficiency, and sustainability practices.
  • Establish and maintain technical standards across operations, ensuring consistency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Oversee governance of technical documentation, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
  • Provide initial technical response in the event of an incident.
  • Coordinate and lead Root Cause Analysis.
  • Provide technical oversight for procedures.
  • Provide operational input in the design of Yondr Data Centers.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive training strategy for technical and operational staff, aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development to deliver targeted programmes for onboarding, upskilling, and leadership development.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through KPIs, feedback loops, and certification tracking.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and technical mastery across all levels of the organization.
