About the position

Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers - providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The Performance team delivers delicious food but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams. The position is responsible for planning, developing, and managing all sales and marketing activities necessary to successfully market products and services to customers. This includes establishing sales territories and goals, determining product lines, price management, sales promotion, staff development, training, and market research.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise associates including staffing, training, coaching, development, performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Lead Sales and Marketing efforts to achieve profitable case growth and appropriate contribution to EBITDA.
  • Manage Sales and Marketing components of P&L and budgeting for case, customer, and profit growth.
  • Spend time in key PFS South Texas markets developing the team and building customer relationships.
  • Travel within the South Texas PFS footprint and occasionally out of area/state/country.
  • Attain targeted profit margins and increase sales growth with acceptable levels of gross margins.
  • Increase market share for products and services.
  • Establish processes to effectively meet customer needs.
  • Develop interpersonal relationships that encourage openness and trust.
  • Deliver and present proposals to key customers.
  • Work with senior management in developing and executing plans and evaluating company performance.
  • Develop marketing plans and recommend policy and procedure changes.
  • Participate in the strategic planning process of the company.
  • Implement efficient sales processes integrated with other departments.
  • Attend and present information at sales meetings and trade association meetings.
  • Plan food shows and seminars.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 6 - 10 Years Foodservice industry sales or related area with supervisory experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business management, sales/marketing or related area.
  • 10 Years+ Foodservice industry sales with supervisory/management experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
