About The Position

The Vice President of Real Estate Development and Asset Management at Project for Pride in Living (PPL) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization's real estate development activities and assets. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Real Estate, Finance, Housing, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in affordable housing development.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate development and financing programs, including LIHTC and TIF.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience in land acquisition and working with lenders and investors.
  • Strong communication skills, both public speaking and writing.
  • Experience leading teams in a complex and collaborative environment.
  • Advanced strategic thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with affordable housing financing programs administered by Minnesota Housing and local governmental entities.
  • Familiarity with rental support and operating subsidy programs.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and cultivate development opportunities to ensure alignment with PPL's strategic direction.
  • Monitor, support, and direct project managers through project planning and management processes.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with nonprofit partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Set strategic direction for real estate development activities and establish departmental culture.
  • Create and manage departmental budgets and monitor cash flow.
  • Implement race equity goals within the Real Estate Department and ensure staff development plans are in place.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth integration of program activities.
  • Ensure key project milestones have buy-in from leadership and governance structures.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with projects.
  • Contribute to the strategic positioning of PPL and its real estate development function.
