About The Position

The Vice President of Operations plays a critical leadership role within Kinsley Steel, overseeing teams across operations and support departments and driving performance, coordination, and alignment. This leadership role has direct responsibility for KPIs and team success in safety, quality, productivity, and people.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, construction, or industrial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication processes, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication, erection, safety, and project management processes.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor diverse teams across multiple locations.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in interpreting performance data and managing KPIs.
  • Proficiency with ERP and scheduling systems (e.g., Microsoft Project, Tekla PowerFab preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support multi-site structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication operations, including Project Management and Estimating functions.
  • Partner with and lead best practices for support departments in Quality Control, Purchasing, IT, Equipment & Asset Management, and HR to ensure alignment and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives to streamline operations between fabrication shops, installation teams, and project management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized operational procedures and best practices across all locations.
  • Monitor production schedules, installation timelines, and resource planning across departments to ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
  • Participate in executive planning and strategic growth initiatives in alignment with the President/CEO.
  • Lead operational reviews and KPI monitoring sessions to identify performance trends, resolve bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Mentor and develop department managers and future leaders across the organization.
  • Support recruitment, training, and retention initiatives in collaboration with HR and department leaders.
  • Act as a key liaison between regional facilities and corporate leadership to ensure consistent execution of the company's vision and culture.
