About The Position

The Vice President of Operations provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for Ken Garff for Good’s statewide education initiatives, ensuring programs are impactful, scalable, and aligned with long-term organizational goals. This role combines visionary leadership with operational execution to drive measurable outcomes across initiatives supporting students from kindergarten through post-secondary planning. This position oversees statewide outreach to all 41 public school districts in Utah, including coordination of school visits, scholarship awareness and access, literacy initiatives, leadership opportunities, mentoring programs, and college and career readiness efforts. The Vice President of Operations plays a critical leadership role in advancing Utah’s Education Pillar for the 2034 Winter Games, helping create a lasting educational legacy that prepares students for workforce, leadership, and global engagement opportunities connected to the Games. Additionally, this role oversees the development of a statewide digital engagement platform connecting K–12 students and families with educational resources, scholarships, and career pathways. The Vice President ensures programming is evidence-based, data-informed, and expands access for students from diverse backgrounds, including those who are first-generation, from rural or low-income communities, or historically underrepresented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree or equivalent senior leadership experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in education, nonprofit, or public sector program operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-site or statewide initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic planning, manage complex budgets, and build high-level partnerships.
  • Strong knowledge of Utah’s education systems and K–16 pipeline.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and equity-focused programming.
  • Skilled in project management, stakeholder engagement, and organizational leadership.
  • Strong public speaking, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
