About The Position

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for orchestrating and optimizing the operational engine that enables IMG Academy to deliver safe, world-class experiences to student-athletes, campers, staff, and guests. This leader serves as both architect and executor of the campus infrastructure, overseeing core functions across IMG Academy's 600-acre multi-use campus - from daily logistics to long-term capital planning. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and the ability to simplify complexity into scalable, integrated operations. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in fast-paced, customer-focused environments and thrives on solving problems and driving excellence behind the scenes. They bring a data-informed approach to decision-making, using operational insights to improve performance and anticipate future needs.

Requirements

  • Significant senior-level operational leadership experience in high-touch, complex environments such as academic institutions, sports venues, resorts, or large-scale facilities.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing diverse operational functions, including facilities, safety/security, logistics, and service delivery.
  • Proven experience leading capital projects and infrastructure upgrades from planning through execution.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
  • Systems-oriented thinker committed to continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and leading emergency preparedness and crisis response protocols.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and during emergency events.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business, Operations Management, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with budgeting tools, operational software, and data analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements related to large campuses or student-centered environments.
  • Ability to maintain a strong, visible presence across campus operations, indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key member of the Campus Leadership Team and principal operational advisor to the COO.
  • Shape and execute campus-wide operational strategies that support IMG Academy's growth, experience, and performance objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership and clear direction across all operational departments, including campus safety, grounds, maintenance, events, and facilities.
  • Oversee campus safety operations, implementing proactive and best in class risk management strategies.
  • Drive the planning and execution of capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects.
  • Champion and leverage data, technology, and best-in-class operational practices.
  • Embrace the use of operational technology to drive efficiency, predictive planning, and transparency.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of directors and staff.
  • Lead crisis and emergency response planning, serving as chair of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Partner closely with Finance to manage operational budgets with precision and transparency.
  • Collaborate closely with all pertinent departments across campus.
  • Oversee critical vendor and contractor relationships across facilities, services, and infrastructure projects.
  • Champion operational compliance with all regulatory, organizational, and ethical standards.
  • Take on additional leadership responsibilities as needed.
