About The Position

The Vice President of Operations at Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hospital. Requirements

  • Master's Degree (M.B.A., M.H.A., M.P.H. or equivalent business degree) preferred.
  • Ten years' management experience preferred.
  • Experience within a large, complex hospital system environment, ideally with a teaching/academic mission.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing a leading-edge department.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all constituents to effect change and impact results.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day functioning of critical operations.
  • Ensure the corporation meets its long-range strategic plan and annual operating goals, including quality objectives.
  • Support management and staff in identifying and troubleshooting patient care questions, concerns, or issues.
  • Develop measurable goals and objectives for the department.
  • Serve as a leader/mentor for all staff, administering timely performance evaluations and fostering a work environment that encourages achievement of professional, technical, and career goals.
  • Collaborate with medical and other professional staff in routine evaluation to identify improvement opportunities in quality, financial effectiveness, and other key performance criteria.
  • Help all employees connect NM values with their daily work and patient satisfaction.
  • Support ongoing learning and skill development for self and staff; provide coaching and mentoring.
  • Identify opportunities for new business growth and development, and expansion of current services.
  • Practice fiscal accountability and involve staff in budget preparation and efficiency improvements.
  • Measure and monitor budget and business development plans; provide ongoing updates to staff.
  • Achieve or exceed budget and business growth and profitability targets.
  • Facilitate change readiness and agility among staff and teams.
