About The Position

The Vice President of Operations at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hospital to ensure efficient functioning and high-quality patient care. This position involves collaboration with senior administration, clinical teams, and medical staff to address the needs of patients, physicians, and team members. The Vice President will also play a key role in strategic planning, operational improvement, and compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Business, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of management experience in an acute care setting comparable in size and scope to ORMC.
  • At least five (5) years of experience as an Operational Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in operations improvement, productivity management, patient safety, length of stay management, and expense management.
  • Utilizes information systems and data to drive change and assure accountability in clinical and administrative decision-making processes.
  • Works closely with senior management and medical staff to enhance employee, patient, and physician satisfaction.
  • Directly manages the hospital's ancillary, diagnostic, support, and rehabilitation services.
  • Ensures community needs are addressed through cost-effective, accessible, safe, and high-quality healthcare services.
  • Assumes President's responsibilities in their absence.
  • Develops and implements strategic plans for ORMC.
  • Creates new business strategies to enhance market share and overall performance.
  • Participates in the development and oversight of the ORMC operating hospital budget.
  • Prepares reports, performs analysis, and reviews services to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with medical directors and staff to ensure input and evaluation of services and strategic initiatives.
  • Establishes processes for management development and succession planning.
  • Recommends organizational changes required for development and growth.
  • Collaborates with CNO/CSSO to support nursing and surgical services.
  • Evaluates, selects, and integrates healthcare technology and information management systems.
  • Works with management and medical staff to reduce costs, enhance revenues, and achieve quality goals.
  • Ensures operations conform with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Negotiates physician contracts and other necessary contracts to achieve operational objectives.
  • Ensures a high-performing management team with clear accountabilities in all operational areas.
  • Hires and retains the right personnel for each position.
  • Ensures departments are organized, managed, supervised, and staffed appropriately.
  • Promotes a culture of customer service throughout operations.
  • Coordinates operations with other Orlando Health executives and administrators.
  • Establishes and maintains open communication throughout the organization.
