We are hiring a Vice President of Medical Affairs, Oncology to lead the execution of all medical affairs and clinical development initiatives for our oncology product line. This operationally focused leader will manage and scale the teams responsible for provider education (MSL), clinical study strategy and execution (Clinical Affairs), and data-driven insights generation (Oncology Translational Research). While the Chief Medical Officer will serve as an external-facing strategic leader, this role is responsible for running the day-to-day execution across medical and clinical functions. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role that directly contributes to provider adoption, payer access, and clinical differentiation of BillionToOne’s oncology diagnostics.

Requirements

  • M.D. degree required; must be a board-certified Medical Oncologist.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in medical affairs and clinical development within oncology.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing clinical studies for diagnostics and/or therapeutics.
  • Deep knowledge of medical education, payer evidence requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Exceptional scientific communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Medical Affairs Execution: Lead the MSL function to drive provider engagement, medical education, and scientific communications in support of commercial and access efforts.
  • Clinical Development Oversight: Design and execute clinical trials that generate robust evidence for guideline inclusion, regulatory milestones, and payer coverage.
  • Translational Research Leadership: Oversee the generation of clinically actionable insights and high-impact publications based on study and real-world data.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Product, Commercial, R&D, Market Access, and Regulatory teams to ensure that medical strategy supports business outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and develop high-performing leaders across the medical, clinical, and translational teams.

  • For this position, we offer a total compensation package of $588,002 per year, including a base pay range of $269,282 - $290,402 per year.
