About The Position

Zoot Enterprises is looking to hire an amazing Vice President of Human Resources. The Vice President of Human Resources position focuses on planning, directing, and coordinating human resource management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as recruiting and onboarding, benefits, compensation, performance management, organizational development, individual and company-wide recognition programming, policies management, and regulatory compliance. The position is a member of the Zoot Vice President team, manages the Human Resources team, and reports to the President. Zoot's Human Resources team is responsible for developing strategies and executing initiatives that help the Company manage, value, and develop employees to achieve our goals. It is our desire to align the capacity and skills of all employees with the Company's goals and objectives, while also promoting a culture and providing a workplace environment that supports Company growth and stability. As a Vice President, this position is expected to implement and execute the Zoot corporate strategy in their group, develop, implement, and execute a group/department strategy that aligns with the corporate strategy, and establish relevant key performance indicators that provide measurements for the success of that strategy. Vice Presidents are expected to manage and develop other managers who report to them, as well as guide individual contributors on the team. Fiscal responsibility for their group is also expected, which may include budgeting, planning, and evaluating/approving expense proposals. Vice Presidents are expected to work with their peers at the Vice President level to ensure their group's strategy has alignment with other groups' priorities, which in turn should all align with Zoot's corporate strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field is required, or if degree is in a different field, significant professional experience within the Human Resources profession is required.
  • At least 7 years of work experience within the Human Resources profession, with preferably 3-5 years at the HR manager level.
  • PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SCP certifications highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective and quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at one time while ensuring that everything eventually gets completed.
  • Ability to work as a strategic HR leader and manager, both across the organization and with the HR team, while also serving as a 'do-er' within various HR functions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of employees and staff relating to employment, benefits, compensation, training, retention, staffing, performance management, health and wellness, and employee relations.
  • Manage the Zoot HR team, which includes a Benefits Manager, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and Human Resources Coordinator.
  • Work closely with the HR resources of Zoot's related companies to ensure best practices are applied as appropriate to their businesses.
  • Develop, implement, and apply personnel policies and procedures while providing guidance, advice and assistance to all employees regarding policy and procedure interpretation and application.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, resolving differences, ethics, code of business conduct, etc. and recommend needed changes.
  • Confer with other management team members, managers, and employees to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems.
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits programs to establish competitive offerings that highlight and promote differentiated and value-added benefits and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Oversee company-wide recognition efforts for individuals, including Length of Service programs, spot recognition, and constantly evaluate existing programs for effectiveness and impact.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with under/over staffing, mediating disputes, administering corrective action and termination procedures.
  • Direct and coordinate the HR organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
  • Analyze operations to evaluate performance and objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
  • Oversee the Zoot Fun Committee, which plans and runs company-wide programming for employees and their families.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports related to benefits, compensation, recruitment, employment, etc.
  • Compliance with and knowledge of Zoot's Policies and Procedures, Code of Business Conduct, and Employee Agreement.
  • Achieve a service-focused culture with emphasis on delivering on-time, high-quality products and services to internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
