About The Position

The Vice President of Fresh Food is a senior executive responsible for the end-to-end strategy, development, execution, and financial performance of the company’s fresh food and prepared food programs across the convenience store network. This role includes menu innovation, culinary standards, sourcing, production models, food safety, and operational execution to drive traffic, sales, margin, and brand differentiation at scale. This leader partners closely with internal and external partners to ensure prepared food offerings are best-in-class, operationally sound, and aligned with the company’s growth strategy. Let’s Go!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field required. Master’s degree (MBA or related) preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in foodservice, QSR, grocery, or food-forward convenience retail.
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience overseeing large-scale, multi-unit food programs with operations.
  • Deep understanding of fresh and prepared food operations, supply chain and food safety.
  • Demonstrates the ability to translate strategy into disciplined, store level execution.
  • A record of anticipating future consequences and trends accurately and creating new and innovative approaches to activities enhancing performance.
  • Demonstrated success in linking corporate strategy to the development of leadership strategies and programs.
  • History of leading teams through significant change while inspiring optimism and sharing information with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and weigh alternatives and select appropriate courses of action, driving activity to measurable results.
  • Ability to contribute and direct innovation and troubleshooting for other related departments for cross coordination of large projects and complex business impacting service issues.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision and strategy for fresh and prepared foods, positioning the brand as a food destination.
  • Own end-to-end performance of fresh and prepared food categories, including sales, margin, quality, and execution at scale.
  • Lead culinary innovation, menu development, and product lifecycle management, balancing creativity with scalability.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure store-level execution through clear standards, SOPs, and training.
  • Oversee sourcing, production models, and vendor partnerships in collaboration with Supply Chain.
  • Serve as executive owner of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Merchandising on pricing, promotions, and in-store food experiences.
  • Own the P&L for fresh and prepared foods, driving growth, cost control, and waste reduction.
  • Occasional travel 10-25%
