Summary / Purpose for Position The VP of Finance and Accounting helps ensure the company is financially strong, well‑run, and supported by systems that allow our team members to do their best work, so we can continue to deliver on our Purpose: to Enrich Lives. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role is responsible for turning strategy into everyday execution in a manufacturing‑driven environment where financial performance, operational execution, and systems discipline are tightly connected. This leader improves margins, maintains strong relationships with our financial partners, identifies and removes waste from how we work, and uses business systems and technology to make the business clearer, safer, and more effective for our teams. This role brings together finance, people systems, and business technology to support how we actually operate. The VP of Finance and Accounting builds leaders, strengthens core processes, and ensures our systems reinforce trust, accountability, and clarity across Accounting, Finance, Business Systems & IT, and defined risk areas.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business, finance, accounting, information systems, or technology‑aligned field is required.
  • This leader is expected to live our Purpose and Family Values and consistently demonstrate the behaviors that create a low ego, high‑trust environment, including Transparency, Ownership, Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Have direct accountability for financial results in a prior role, including ownership of a P&L or clear responsibility for driving financial success.
  • Bring strong financial understanding and the ability to connect numbers to real‑world operating decisions.
  • Have a strong preference for experience in manufacturing, food production, or an adjacent asset‑intensive industry (such as CPG, distribution, logistics, packaging, or industrial operations), where financial performance is tightly connected to operations.
  • Demonstrate a strong, effective working relationship with IT and business systems teams, or have served as a technology or systems leader responsible for system strategy and outcomes.
  • Have experience leading or partnering closely with ERP, manufacturing systems, reporting, data, or analytics initiatives that improved visibility, efficiency, or decision‑making.
  • Have experience leading multiple disciplines; prior oversight of IT is a strong plus.
  • Be an effective teacher and communicator who helps others draw a line-of-sight on how their work impacts results.
  • Demonstrate humility, self‑awareness, and a commitment to learning in a hands-on operating environment.
  • Be comfortable leading change, leaning into uncomfortable conversations, and helping teams align around shared goals.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership Leads Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate reporting, sound controls, and financial clarity.
  • Develops and executes financial strategies that support margin improvement and long-term stability.
  • Maintains compliance with lenders, financial partners, auditors, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees budgeting, forecasting, and planning to support better decisions.
  • Supports Open Book Leadership so team members understand how the business makes money and where improvement matters most.
  • Margin Improvement & Waste Reduction Leads efforts to identify and remove waste from processes, systems, and day-to-day work.
  • Establishes clear metrics and measurement rhythms that drives visibility, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with senior leaders to ensure time, money, and energy are focused on the right priorities.
  • Business Systems & Technology Uses business systems and technology to make work simpler, safer, and more consistent.
  • Provides oversight for Business Systems and IT to ensure tools are reliable, secure, and aligned with how the business actually operates.
  • Leads strategy for business systems, financial systems, reporting, and data.
  • Guides system selection, implementation, and improvement to ensure systems deliver everyday value.
  • Builds strong data discipline and cybersecurity awareness across the organization.
  • Risk Management Has responsibility for key financial and enterprise risk areas, including insurance programs such as Umbrella, Business Interruption, and Product Recall coverage.
  • Manages relationships with insurance brokers and carriers related to these coverages and ensures adequate protection aligned with the business.
  • Partners with internal teams to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks that could impact business continuity or financial performance.
  • Serves as a thought partner to the President and Senior Leadership Team when evaluating risk and opportunity.
  • Leadership & Culture Actively contributes as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Aligns financial priorities, business systems, and people practices to support our Purpose and Family Values.
  • Models Transparency, Ownership, Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement through everyday decisions and actions.
  • Encourages collaboration by creating clarity, shared information, and disciplined follow‑through.
