We’ll give you the autonomy, technology and support to organize, budget and monitor all phases of the division’s financial strategy. As a leader of our finance team you will manage, motivate and develop a team of professionals, provide sound business advice to the Division President, review the business units monthly financial statements, solve problems by gathering data and analyzing results and lead and support various critical initiatives and financial cultural changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
  • Budgeting experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Eight plus years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate residential accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key member of Division Senior Management Team.
  • Partner with Division President to identify formulate and execute strategies to maximize profits and growth.
  • Partner with other disciplines to develop and implement best practices to achieve the division's goals.
  • Assist Division President and leadership teams with driving sales, starts and closing to ensure attainment of business objectives.
  • Assist Division President in managing the land acquisition pipeline to ensure adequate lot supply to meet future business goals.
  • Assist Land Acquisition personnel in land requisition analysis, particularly in preparing the project acquisition pro-forma, cash flow, and ROI/IRR analysis.
  • Know and actively manage inventory and all other components of the balance sheet.
  • Maximize ROI and ensure predictable results.
  • Evaluate new projects and ensure they are structured to minimize risk and maximize returns.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate undue risk.
  • Maintain an accurate record-keeping environment.
  • Take ownership of the financial and budget processes.
  • Understand the business and challenge assumptions to know if you are being provided realistic information.
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly and annual forecasts.
  • Build from the bottom up with complete management buy-in.
  • Support with reasonable assumptions and accurate data, consistent and historical results.
  • Lead the management of fixed costs.
  • Promote budget discipline and accountability.
  • Continually strive to control and minimize fixed costs.
  • Provide all functional heads with the proper information to manage their business.
  • Communicate and enforce established company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all disciplines are in compliance.
  • Resolve issues and inconsistencies in a timely manner.
