Avolve is seeking a VP of Engineering to join our Product and Development team and lead our software and data engineering teams. In this role, you will report into the Chief Technology Officer and play a key role in driving innovation and developing successful SaaS software solutions for government clients. This role involves collaboration across product management, customer support, professional services and IT to ensure delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure solutions that exceed industry expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as a senior engineering and QA leader, preferably in a SaaS B2G environment.
  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering leaders (team leads, managers and directors)
  • Experience with data engineering and architecture highly desired
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed engineering teams of 30+ people across multiple time zones
  • Strong background in software development, with expertise in modern programming languages, cloud technologies, and scalable architectures.
  • Experience building AI solutions at scale
  • Demonstrated experience in leading remote and global engineering teams and managing complex projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with company goals, focusing on innovation, growth, scalability, and quality.
  • Drive the architectural design, including dependent services, service interactions, and policies
  • Simplify and improve the cost/benefit of a function/service/architecture strategy
  • Experience working with or managing DevOps and technical infrastructure disciplines
  • Align engineering initiatives with business priorities, ensuring cross functional collaboration with Product and Support teams.
  • Team Management: Build, lead, and optimize a high-performing engineering team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs, address technical challenges, and ensure our solutions meet their requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, customer success, professional services and customer support teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives and client expectations.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our software solutions.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that our solutions adhere to relevant regulatory requirements (SOC2 Type 2) and industry standards, particularly those specific to government and public sector clients.
