About The Position

Since its founding in 1924, the organization has significantly reduced cardiovascular disease deaths, but acknowledges there is still much work to be done. To address current health challenges and accelerate progress, the American Heart Association seeks passionate individuals. This role is for a Regional Vice President (RVP) of Development in the Southwest region, leading efforts to generate revenue by building strategic relationships with executive and C-suite leaders. It is a fast-paced position requiring knowledge of general fundraising practices and executive engagement strategies, strong relationship-building skills, a results-oriented mindset, and a proven track record of fundraising success. This is an office-based position offering a hybrid schedule, located in the Dallas/Fort Worth or Houston, Texas area. The role includes a base salary with potential for an incentive up to 25% of base pay, contingent on achieving revenue targets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years of experience in a development position in a similar non-profit organization.
  • Three years of experience in the management of staff, preferably development or fundraising staff.
  • Experience leading and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-suite level.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Southwest region approximately 75% of the time, including Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of accounts and have responsibility for achieving an annual revenue goal of $5 million in year one and build to $10 million in year two.
  • Design, develop, and lead regional committees to achieve the region's strategic plan and fundraising goals. This includes identifying and leveraging strategic volunteer leadership relationships.
  • Develop and manage strategies that drive key regional initiatives from concept to implementation.
  • Collaborate with the region committees and staff to ensure strategies and implementation plans are coordinated across the region.
  • Cultivate innovative relationships with new and existing partners, and identify sponsorship opportunities to achieve results.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where staff from various functions work together to achieve results related to our mission and revenue goals.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope and responsibility of the job level and family.
