About The Position

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Vice President of Development to lead our development team and leverage People Incorporated's strengths in storytelling to attract new donors and funders, expand grant opportunities and design strategic fundraising events that elevate our visibility and impact. People Incorporated Mental Health Services is the largest nonprofit mental health provider in Minnesota. For over 50 years, we have been a leading community partner, transforming the health of our communities through innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit leadership or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive fundraising experience, including leadership of development teams.
  • Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts and grants from a wide range of donors and funders
  • Working knowledge of tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets and estates.
  • Prior donor database and CRM experience
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations

  • Master’s degree in communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit leadership or related field

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes individual giving, grants, planned giving, annual fund, and special campaigns.
  • Increase the number of mid-level and major donors through strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on donor engagement initiatives and community events.
  • Represent the organization through public appearances and speaking engagements to promote its mission and impact.
  • Oversee grant writing, research, proposal development, and reporting to secure and sustain funding.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the development team including gift officers, grants officer, and development specialist fostering a learning culture through coaching, training, and professional development.
  • Partner with the ELT and Board of Directors to advance fundraising strategies and provide guidance on execution.
